Inspired by fairytales from Afghanistan, India and Iraq, Hanging by a Branch combines acrobatics, dance, trapeze and spoken word to take the audience through an enchanting journey about the beauty and the torment of the earth.

Beginning at the fringe tent (corner of Rachel and St.Laurent), audience members are paraded to a special spot in Jeanne Mance park where circus artists await.

Admission is FREE and donations graciously accepted

This Friday, June 13th is Monde Osé; The Body Art Ball!

There will be free body art services available on site from 10-1pm. Monde Osé is a mindset and a lifestyle, celebrated at an exclusive party in a luxurious setting with the most attractive, adventurous and open-minded people anywhere.

Last weekend, June 8th, I participated in Color Mundo Make-Up Convention that specializes in body painting & special effects beauty. This is Color Mundo's 2nd year and Montreal's 1st Face/Body Painting Competition. There were representations there from all of the industry's product providers (MAC, Mehron, Krylon), workshops, and more.

I participated in the Brush & Sponge section of the body painting competition. The theme for this year's event was Ecology & Destruction; a theme which is close to my heart and I feel is very prevelent in the world at this time. The competition requirements were for 80% of the skin to be painted and to pay attention to every detail, down to even making sure the space between the toes is painted as well. I choose to use the symbols of the dragon and the phoenix with the tree of life, pollution symbols, and a drain with sludge coming out of the roots of the tree of life. The dragon in this situation represented destruction of the environment, the phoenix represented nature's way of returning and recovering for it is the phoenix which rises from it's own ashes, young, healthy and strong.

The Bal Du Mont Royal was a great success!!

For those who were not able to attend this event but are interested in my work; I will have photos up on the website soon.

I hand painted a window-mural of 26 panels on acetate, measuring at 10 feet by 3.5 feet each. I also painted 14 Waiters & Waitresses, plus the 4 ballerina's, & 1 opera singer (Karine Cote) who did a surprise performance that night.

Special thanks to my on going assistant-artist, Jacqueline Tyracek (illustrator), who helped with 6 panels of the window-mural. Jacqueline also worked the night of the show as my assistant on site for the face & body painting; thanks again for your help & awesome work!

I also want to give a special thanks to Raine Alton Gould; to show his support for this charity event, he graciously volunteered his time as our second assistant for the face & body painting. This was Raine's first time working with The Art of April-Anna.

This is a fundraiser for the Sainte-Justine Hospital Foundation in association with Cirque Eloize. What have I done? Well, it is a surprise!! You have to come to find out!!
